“Mama Addie” is the story of one of the most selfless people I have ever met. When she isn’t working, Addie Shuford, or better known as Mama Addie, is out in the community making sure people are off the streets and safe. Although Mama Addie has had to deal with an incredible amount of adversity in her life, she still wears a smile on her face and makes sure to put others before herself. She is up from 4:30 till 1am working two jobs, driving others around, and even volunteering to be Bandys High School’s sports “Team Mom.” This is her story.
This short documentary is just one of many short documentaries that were produced through the Carolina Photojournalism Workshop.
